Manufacturing Case Study: Performance Appraisals
Making use of antiquated tools and methods to effectively assess performance company wide, the internal process had devolved into finger pointing that managers dread as much as the employees themselves. An initiative originally designed to bring equity to the question of compensation as well as performance expectations, was generating the opposite of the intended result.
By understanding the limits of the tools in place, we helped promote the process internally and link it with a management training focused on continuous improvement. By also addressing the needs of support staff with video capsules, we helped improve the Manager/Employee link of trust.
The performance appraisal exercise is now accepted and leveraged for greater performance feedback all year long.
